Requirements

Software Department Manager
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of Management/leadership experience in a software development organization required
- Must have at least 2 years experience working through the design, development, release cycle delivery to market
- Disk encryption software development and/or related software experience with Government project strongly preferred
- Large/enterprise application development experience preferred
- Strong understanding of the software development cy
- Experience in computer programming using Java, .net or other wed application frameworks

Job Responsibilities

Project Engineer (Petaling Jaya)
Primary Function
- Provide project management administrative, services and technical assistance on management of IT projects from project initiation preparation through project closure or final acceptance by client. Assigned increasing levels of responsibility from portions of projects to small projects.
Essential Role and Responsibilities
- Assist in gathering information for estimates for selected project with detailed review of project proposal specifications, statement of work, takeoff information, and contracting.
- Provide technical assistance and services, interpretation of project management plan, recommending project proposal methods and services, etc., as required.
- Assist in Initiating and maintaining extra work estimating and issuance of change management.
- When assigned by Project manager or senior project engineer, lead a team as a team leader to provide guidance, direction and leadership.
- Maintain project files in an orderly and organized manner.
- Assist in the preparation of necessary and required closeout project documentation.
- To play the role of a project coordinator and to execute project plan together with the team members.
- To co-ordinate the project with other departments as well as external client involved. Attend to meeting with client on project matters.
- To ensure that the projects are implemented smoothly according to time line and project constraints. Highlight and report problems or issues arising from the projects.
- Document all project schedules according project plan and capable to manage risk and to monitor it until the matters are deemed solved. All documents must be kept properly for easy retrieval at a later stage.
- To obtain user’s acceptance on the documents related to the project from the following process:
(1) Initiation
(2) Planning
(3) Execution
(4) Monitoring and Control
(5) Closure - To monitor the project after implementation until project closed or handover.
- Report work status and involvement in the project on a weekly/ bi-weekly or monthly basis.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, bi-weekly or weekly project status reports, forecasting cost projections and status of the project.
- Frequent meeting with immediate work group are to address and resolve issues, the resolve issue shall documented in the lesson learn.
- To be pro-active in recording minutes of the meeting and the minute shall ready and updated via email within 72 hours after the meeting.
- To upgrade personal skill by attending training. Adhere to work ethics and be professional in carrying out duties.
- Maintaining project management processes and Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) methodology.
- Providing project management tools and support such like Project Companion and Microsoft Project.
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities
- Education and experience include: Minimum seven year degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience. Intern/coop experience preferred. Thorough knowledge of all aspects of project management IT (technology, equipment, methods); negotiations, influencer, estimating, schedules and good writing skill are required.
